TESTIMONIALS

"It all started when my parents got a divorce when I was eleven and a half. I was depressed, I had no one to go to. I was lost, confused, and scared all at the same time.

Then my parents heard of a program called "Journey Home". It was a program for troubled kids. My parents thought it was a good idea for me to join, so they signed me up.

There is where I met three magnificent people- Deb, Pat and Doug. Together they ran the program Journey Home.

There I learned four little words "Bless The Horse Manure". It means if you are having a bad time look at the problem from a positive view. Ever since I have heard them four little words, I have been improving my life."

To the staff at Journey Home,

I wish to thank all of you for the tremendous impact you had on our family.

Truthfully, this was some of the toughest therapy I've ever been through! The first couple of sessions were very traumatic for me and I wasn't even the one referred. It made each one of us open our eyes to the dysfunction in our family unit. I hated seeing my family like this and it was blaringly obvious. Several times in the beginning I ended up in tears at home after the session.

However, as sessions passed, I found myself hating to leave. The overall improvement in family dynamics is amazing! It is hard to be honest and look at the whole picture, but when you let down your guard enough to do this, things certainly do begin to improve. Our family still continues to work to better these dynamics, but with the foundation that you gave us to build on, I'm quite sure we will continue to see improvement for the rest of our lives.

Again, we'd all like to thank you for what you you were able to teach each of us about ourselves and being a family!

"Yesterday was so exciting. I realize I can really do this and when I feel down I just get back up and try again. Sometimes it gets hard but I do my best and be my best. My horse is my friend, my loyal partner and she encourages me to keep trying."

-Leah Romero

"My favorite horse is 'Ky' because she is more of a challenge to ride. I have learned from her to have patience, self confidence, to have fun and not be afraid of a challenge."

"From working with the horses, I have learned that I need to trust myself before anyone or anything can trust me."
