Founded in 1996 in rural Southern Colorado, Journey Home, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non profit organization dedicated to changing lives for the better through education, adventure and service. Our method of experiential learning promotes strong values and personal excellence while addressing fundamental community issues such as historic preservation, civic participation and economic improvement. We use the hard working ranch life-style as a framework to experience balance........for example, balance between self reliance and teamwork, civic involvement and self sufficiency. When working with a horse, we learn responsibility, awareness, communication, relationship skills, problem solving, honesty, leadership and work ethic. These qualities are transferable to any situation. Together, Journey Home students, parents and staff apply these life skills to create personal, family and community development. And we have a blast while we're at it!
Through equine-assisted learning, equine assisted psychotherapy, education and recreation, we currently offer 6 programs, each using partnership with horses as the foundation for learning.
